Returning the Impinj R700 to Default Configuration

If you’re troubleshooting issues on the Impinj R700, resetting the reader to its default configuration helps return it to a known state.

Note:

• Default Restore resets configuration but keeps installed CAPs (Custom Application Packages).

• Factory Default Restore resets configuration and removes all CAPs.

Method 1: Default Restore - RShell Command (Keeps CAPs)

1. Connect to the reader using an SSH client such as PuTTY, Windows/macOS/Linux terminal, or another SSH tool.

2. Run command: config image default

3. The reader will reboot

4. Log in - default settings are restored, CAPs remain.

Method 2: Factory Default -  Restore Button (Removes CAPs)

1. Power off the reader.

2. Press and hold the Default Restore button.

3. While keeping the default restore button pressed, power on the reader.

4. Release the button after the LED blinks blue or after 5 seconds.

5. The reader boots with default settings and no CAPs installed.
