To configure a Minew BLE gateway with ClearStream RFID follow the steps in this article.
First make sure that you install ClearStream RFID on a PC that will be on the same network as your Minew gateway. Once configured start a new project, add a Profile, and add a Sync Process. Set the Source to be RFID/Bluetooth, and click on the Devices button. Use the Add button to add a BLE Beacon device to the Device List. From the Gateway Type drop down select Minew. Finally, enter the MAC address of your Minew gateway in the MAC Address column. You can find the MAC address on printed on the bottom of the Minew gateway.
Next, you will need to connect the Minew gateway to your local network. If enabled, the gateway will be assigned an IP address through DHCP on your network. Determine this IP so that you can log into the device using a web browser. Enter http://{IPADDRESS} in your web browser. This will connect to the Minew web configuration utility. The default username is admin with no password.
Once logged in to the configuration tool select the Service tab. On the Service tab set the Service Access drop down to HTTP. and set the URL to match the URL displayed within ClearStream RFID on the Device Configuration dialog. Below is a screenshot:
Finally, Use ClearStream to map the Minew gateway to a destination, and start it. You can use the sample database that is provided with ClearStream RFID as a starting point. Below is a screen shot of this configuration:
Use the Start/Stop form in ClearStream to start the gateway. If everything is configured correctly you should begin seeing beacons being sent to the sample database.
Troubleshooting and Notes:
- If no beacon data is being received by ClearStream, double check that any firewall that may be on your network is disabled. This includes the Windows firewall accessible in the Windows Control Panel.
- If you are using Eddystone beacons, turn on Upload Unknown using the Minew configuration page.
